But I'm very close to starting at least 3 more projects on top of my 3 WIPs.
My immediate goal is to finish this hiking jacket at least. I have one sleeve and the collar left (and the buttons and the finish), so it shouldn't take too much longer. I'm aiming to finish it before the spring. We have such short springs in the SF bay area, so I have to make the best of it.
The first jacket was too big so I frogged the entire thing and had to redo it. I'd be glad to be done with this.
One lesson I learnt after many painful frogging is to knit one sleeve first, block and seam it to see if it fits before knitting the other one. I don't know if it's just me but I often have trouble with too big or too small sleeve heads. For this one I had to frog the head at lest 5 times, but at least I know exactly what I need to do for the other sleeve. The fabric underneath is old Liberty tana lawn I got from Etsy. I plan to make a shirt out of it once I have space to sew (soon!).
There are two more WIPs but I'm naturally more excited to talk about the upcoming projects!
The first is a birthday present for Sean. Sean indulges me and is quite happy (I think) to accept the fact that most of the gifts he receives from me are hand-knit items. I'm planning to make this slip over in deep maroon colour, using Knitpicks Palette Garnet heather.
This will me my first cable project. I'm not as much into cable as fair isle but we'll see how much I like it.
Next upcoming project is this charming jumper from 1937. Aren't the buttons on the front just delightful? Even better, the pattern is available for free. I'd have loved to use green, brown or maroon coloured yarns for this but I have tons of frogged and unkinked Cascade Heritage Blood orange yarn, so I'm going to be good and use that instead.
Last but not least, I'm thinking to knit something for the summer. I went to a yarn swap at work last week, and came back with soooo much yarn. I was astonished by the quantity and the quality (or at least the price) of the yarns people brought. Seriously, one of the hanks was more expensive than all the yarns I used for a jumper combined.
I'm thinking to use the green cotton+nylon yarns at top (the ones in cones) to make this one. I haven't bought the pattern yet so I have no idea whether it's the right weight for it, but it looks right to me.
That's just a few of the vast amount of things I want to knit. Knowing how slow I am I'd be surprised if I got to all of those three this year. I also deliberate a lot so things may change. But I love lining up all the beautiful patterns and dreaming about it. :)
